Batman sucks!
I disagree, Batmans mission was to clean up Gotham, did he succeed? No, it is still a worthless cestpool of violence and fear. He might be cool but he's just a cool loser. He would have been better off using the millions he spent, beating up bad guys, on education and health care for the poor in Gotham. But unfortunately he's as bad as the thugs he beats up, nothing more than another criminal element looking for his kicks through violence, and as to his relationship with Robin? A little bit gay if you ask me, at least Superman likes girls.
Supermans mission was to save the world, it's still here, Superman wins hands down. Thats the difference between a hero and an superhero, superheroes get the job done. End of story.
Superman is the cause!
The world wouldn't need saving if Superman wasn't around! He is the direct cause of most of the catastrophes that he then averts. If I didn't know better I'd say he was causing them on purpose, and then stopping them, just to look cool!

On darkness
And as to Batman, a rogue vigilante who lost track of his original goals a long time ago, he has brought himself down to the level of the things he hates, he spends his time and his money obsessing not over how to stop a problem but to punish its perpretrators. And with
regards to power, he has one of the most effective powers in the known cosmos, lots and lots of money that he didn't earn, that he misuses
in some ridiculous vendetta against crime that has spanned decades but failed to achieve anything.
Let us not forget what Nietsche said in Beyond Good and Evil,

Also a long war never benefits anyone, and I believe that Batman's war on crime has actually been destructive to Gotham.
Thomas Paine states that

and I think if you read a little bit of Tsun Tzu you'll find he agrees with this premise. Batman is an egotistical poseur who has acheived
nothing but destruction in his long career. Superman always protects and rebuilds, he holds the world up on his shoulders like a real hero
from any of the Greek or Roman mythos. More than anything he stands up for his principles and puts himself out there as a target, and is quite willing to fight to the death for what he believes in (The death of superman, doomsday). Above all else he teaches us about selflessness and sacrifice for the things you believe in and the people in your life. He has great power, and yet he uses it in the service of others. We see an individual who was raised by normal people and in many respects is a normal person with the powers of a god who uses his abilities in a responsibe manner to protect the world he lives in, how is he in any way a lesser superhero?

But...
His neurons clearly aren't firing faster. Outsmarted on a regular basis by average intelligence 'mortals' the man of steel may be god like, but in the thinking department he is at best on average with man. For a Krypton, who are physically superior in everyway - surely Superman’s sluggish cognitive powers render him medically stupid at a Kryptonian level.
Batman wins for being both cooler, and smarter.
Or
Superman looses for having a Kryptonian IQ of around 3.5.
Kryptonians
Kryptonians don't have any powers and there is no reference material to indicate that they are any more intelligent than an average human, their race was very old and advanced when it was destroyed, thats all. Superman has his powers because of the effects of our sun on Kryptonian biology over a few decades. He's essentially like a big battery of power, I suggest your actually read the basics of the hero before making random comments, there is no evidence to suggest he is in any way stupid as he has a very advanced understanding of Kryptonian technology. There are numerous references to this. Can you please clarify what you mean by saying he isn't intelligent?

Lets focus on Batsy for a moment
Batman captures retarded psycho villian, villian is found mentally incompetent and placed in an asylum, villian escapes asylum (usually by just walking out) goes on a killing spree, Batman broods for a while and talks about his parents death (very emotional so good to include it every time the boy wonder isn't running around the batcave in his tights distracting him) and then eventually gets up off his arse, does some "detective work" (which usually involves spending money on gadgets he didn't need in the first place) captures the retard, and then the cycle repeats itself. If Batman was as "intelligent" as you claim, don't you think he'd be a little tired of this shit by now?
Lets not forget Batman has a really really really inappropriate relationship with a preteen boy, not cool dude.
