Facebook - New Terms of Service
Facebook recently changed their terms of service (TOS) in such a way that it will effectively allow them to do whatever they want with any data you have on your account. My reaction to this was to immiediately go to Facebook and deactiviate my account. Seemingly some better minded people decided to create a protest group on Facebook... well, that will help.
Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook founder (and borrower of ideas) wrote this on his blog:
"In reality, we wouldn't share your information in a way you wouldn't want."
I don't know about you, but I think that is a wild claim! I will see that Mr Zuckerberg though, and this is what I want:
"Eoin Bailey, of sound mind and body, does not want his information shared in any way or manner, with any party."
That is what I "would" want Mr. Zuckerberg. Of course, nice choice of words there: 'would'. I would want you to honour my request above, but I know that you don't have to, and your new TOS does not obligate you to. Yay for use of the english language!
